Viking Range has promoted operations and engineering VP Kevin Brown to president.
In his new role, the former Maytag and Whirlpool manager will be responsible for overall operations, sales and engineering initiatives for the premium cooking manufacturer.
Brown is credited with implementing new and more rigorous quality-testing procedures for Viking’s manufacturing process. The procedures were employed for the company’s completely redesigned product line after the iconic brand had been beset by a relatively high level of manufacturing defects in recent years. The change resulted in “significant improvements in reliability and performance” across all product categories, the company said.
“Kevin has been an effective and respected leader with Viking customers, employees and vendors over the past several years, and he has proven time and time again that he can deliver results,” said Selim Bassoul, chairman/CEO of corporate parent The Middleby Corp.
Brown, a 25-year industry veteran, joined Viking in 2007.
