TWICE Picks: Where Are They Now? Schlage Sense Smart Deadbolt

Now with Amazon Alexa

We’re highlighting previous winners in the TWICE Picks Awards, providing additional insight for our annual program that recognizes outstanding products exhibited at CES. Winners are selected by TWICE editors.

Schlage nabbed a Picks Award at CES 2018 for its Sense Smart Deadbolt because our editors were impressed with its compatibility with Google Assistant. (Remember, voice integration wasn’t the de facto standard for smart home devices just 11 short months ago!)

We also appreciated the ability to program up to 30 different access codes for different users.

Since the show, Schlage has also added compatibility with Amazon Alexa. Once enabled in the Alexa app, consumers can open the door using their voice after speaking a unique PIN. The feature is immediately disabled after three incorrect voice code attempts, Schlage noted, which is also a new feature.

“Schlage has been at the forefront of the Internet of Things industry since launching the Schlage Sense Smart Deadbolt,” said Rob Martens, futurist at Allegion, the maker of Schlage locks. “This new integration and functionality is a testament to our ongoing commitment to raise the bar for innovation, convenience and security.”
