Cedar Electronics, home of automotive Cobra, ESCORT and Snooper brands, has announced the promotion of John Kuhn to Chief Technology Officer and the hiring of Tim Coomer as Chief Product Officer.
A 22-year veteran at Cedar Electronics, Kuhn will lead lead engineering and information technology teams in global research and development efforts. Previously, Kuhn served as Vice President of Engineering at Cedar Electronics. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Cincinnati and led R&D teams in the consumer and government electronics industry prior to joining Cedar Electronics.
“I am looking forward to taking on a continued leadership role with Cedar,” said Kuhn in a statement. “The talent across the organization and the commitment to excellence on the product and engineering teams allow us to build the top-of-the-line experience we offer customers. It is a very exciting time as the company continues to capitalize on new technology platforms for the benefit of the user.”

As Chief Product Officer, Coomer is tasked with leading Cedar’s global product and project management. Coomer spent the last three years as the President of Waylens, a dash cam manufacturer before returning to Cedar Electronics, where he previously worked for 18 years as part of the ESCORT team in sales, marketing and product roles, including serving as the Vice President of Product Development.
