CEA, MERA In Final Push For CarTech Demo Days

Arlington, Va. – The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) and Mobile Electronics Retailers Association (MERA) will be supporting automotive electronics retailers across the country as they host CarTech Demo Days for the second year in a row this month.

The in-store events will be held May 16-18, offering consumers the opportunity to experience firsthand the latest technologies at their local automotive technology retail stores.

“We received positive feedback from last year’s participants about CarTech Demo Days ,and they are excited to do it for a second year,” said Ron Freeman, CEO of Aamp of America and chair of CEA’s automotive electronics division board. “Retailers who have not yet signed up are encouraged to complete the process by May 14 in order to take full advantage of the program.”

CEA and MERA are providing all the creative elements for CarTech Demo Days marketing at no cost as a benefit to member retailers, utilizing the Revenew Marketing Network.

In addition to CEA and MERA, manufacturers including Audiovox, Dual, HD Radio, iSimple, Kenwood, Kicker, Pioneer, SiriusXM and Viper are sponsoring the nationwide program and supporting their dealers. The marketing materials for CarTech Demo Days offer a robust suite of creative elements including an event micro site, banner ads, web button, Facebook ads, Facebook app, direct mail, print ads, in-store poster and three-touch email campaigns.

“The Revenew Marketing Network provides a great way for manufacturers to market to their retailers’ customers via email and social platforms,” said Chris Cook, president of MERA. “CarTech Demo Days provides a national awareness program that targets local consumers with the right message to encourage them to visit local retailers and learn about in-vehicle technologies.”

The 2014 CarTech Demo Days have already surpassed last year’s total of 214 retailers participating and hosting in-store events. In 2013 CEA hosted a satellite media tour that included more than 20 media markets, showcasing the types of products available and educating consumers on CarTech Demo Days and how to find a local retailer. The 2014 tour looks to expand on last year’s success of more than 8 million media impressions, CEA said.
