CES Asia Grows Vehicle Exhibit Space By 50% For 2018 Show

Will feature over 50 automotive exhibitors

The Consumer Technology Association (CTA) said CES Asia 2018 will feature its largest vehicle technology exhibit to date, with a 50 percent show-floor footprint expansion.

Fifty-six automotive exhibitors will be at this year’s show, being held June 13-15 at the Shanghai New International Expo Center. In addition to witnessing the launch of new self-driving technologies and concept cars, showgoers can experience the latest in artificial intelligence (AI) for vehicles.

Among the latter, Horizon Robotics will debut its embedded AI solution that gives self-driving vehicles their “brain,” said CTA, while Baidu will offer two onsite self-driving demos.

Hyundai will return for its second year to debut Nexo, a fuel-cell electric vehicle with an estimated driving range of 370 miles (105 more than its predecessor), increased acceleration and power, and tailpipe emission of just water, said CTA.

Other automotive exhibitors will include 3M Auto, Byton, Kia, Continental, Leapmotor, Mitsubishi Electric Automotive and OnStar.

“Asia is the perfect market for the advancements in self-driving technology where major cities will benefit from the gains these technologies bring — removal of human error, fewer accidents and improved mobility for seniors and people with disabilities,” said John T. Kelley, senior director, international programs and show director, CES Asia.

He continued, “Those capabilities will all be at CES Asia with the latest in concept cars and demos. Hyundai offered self-driving rides during the Winter Games in PyeongChang and attendees will be wowed by what they bring to CES Asia as part of our interactive show floor.”
