Tokyo – To try and place Toshiba’s personal computer business back on a profitable footing the company has created a new in-house company dedicated to Toshiba’s computer-related operations.
Toshiba’s new Personal Computer & Network Company will go online Jan. 1, the company said. Its component parts were culled from Toshiba’s current Digital Media Network Company.
‘The establishment of a dedicated company, solely focused on PC operations, is expected to further accelerate Toshiba’s renovation of its PC business and secure an early improvement of profitability,’ Toshiba said in a written statement.
The Personal Computer & Network Company will fall under Toshiba’s Digital Product Group, which already contains the Mobile Communications Company and the Digital Media Network Company.
