Golden, Colo. — Pentax announced a new waterproof camera in its Optio series last week, bringing a new blur-reduction mode to its underwater line.
The Optio W20 meets the JIS Class 8 waterproof standard, able to withstand up to 30 minutes of continuous operation under five feet of water. A new “blur reduction high ISO” mode offers light sensitivities up to ISO 1,600.
The 7-megapixel W20 features a 3x optical zoom,2.5-inch LCD screen, VGA/30 frames per second movie mode and 21 scene modes including two designed for underwater photography.
The W20 will ship in September for under $300.
