Golden, Colo. –
unveiled Monday a new orange version of its popular Optio WG-1 GPS
weatherproof camera.
The third color option for the camera will be available in early
July at a $400 suggested retail price, joining the current yellow/green and
gray models.
The current five Pentax Optio WG-1 (with and without GPS) models
offers enhanced waterproof, shock-proof, dust-proof, cold-proof and crush-proof
performance and feature a Digital Microscope mode with LED lighting for macro
focusing work.
The cameras were designed to look like mountaineering equipment;
they ship with a woven web fabric strap and carabiner to attach the camera to a
backpack or other camera gear.
The GPS feature records positional data for geo-tagging
applications, making it easy for users to check the shooting locations of
captured images and link the data with PC-based maps.
