Lenovo Adds 3D Notebooks

Research Triangle
Park, N.C. – Lenovo today introduced its first 3D laptop, the IdeaPad Y560d.

It has a 15.6-inch
3D enabled display, and it comes with Lenovo’s TriDef 3D Technology software,
which can convert 2D images and video to 3D. The software consists of the
TriDef Media Player that does the video conversion and TriDef Photo
Transformer, which turns standard images into 3D.

Lenovo said the
conversion process works in real time so the content does not have to be
converted ahead of time. Native 3D contents works without the software.

The system uses
polarized goggles for viewing.

The IdeaPad Y560d
will be available with processor solutions up to an Intel Core i7 840QM
TurboBoost equipped processor, up to 8GB DDR3 memory, a 750GB hard drive and
either a DVD or Blu-ray Drive.

The IdeaPad Y560d
will ship at the end of June with a $1,199 suggested retail.
