Irvine, Calif. – Toshiba’s digital products division (DPD), a division of Toshiba America Information Systems, is expanding its fledgling soundbar lineup to three models from one.
In recent weeks, the brand reentered the home-audio business after many years with the launch of the first active soundbars, the $329-suggested SBX4250 soundbar speaker system. It’s available.
In the fall, that soundbar will be joined by two other active models at lower price points. They are the $129-suggested 3D soundbar SBX1250 and $179 Bluetooth-equipped Mini 3D soundbar.
Both feature Sonic Emotion Absolute 3D Technology to deliver surround sound audio throughout a room no matter where a listener is located, the company said.
The Mini 3D soundbar features a subwoofer, total peak power of 90 watts, and a chassis that’s 11.4 inches long by 3.9 inches wide and 2.8 inches high. It features two analog and two digital audio inputs and Bluetooth
The $129 3D soundbar SBX1250incorporates six individual drivers, two of which are optimized for low-end frequencies. Total peak power is 100 watts. The soundbar can also be mounted to a wall with included brackets.
The currently available top-end $329-suggested SBX4250 soundbar speaker system is a 2.1-channel SBX4250 with a separate 6.5-inch wireless subwoofer, built-in wireless stereo Bluetooth, two HDMI inputs, one HDMI output with audio return channel, two optical inputs, Dolby Digital 5.1 decoder, SRS TruSurround HD with TruBass to deliver a virtual surround experience, and 300-watt total peak output.
