WASHINGTON — An impressive array of industry luminaries and D.C. movers and shakers gathered last week at the Consumer Electronics Association’s (CEA) annual Digital Patriots Dinner, billed as a “Celebration of Innovation and Technology.”
Revolution founder Steve Case and Representative Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.) were honored as 2015 Digital Patriots for their efforts as “visionaries who focus on the future and fight to ensure our nation is positioned to lead in innovation,” said CEA CEO Gary Shapiro.
Case, who founded AOL, is now CEO of Revolution, a Washington-based investment firm that partners with visionary entrepreneurs to build significant built-to-last new businesses.
Congressman Goodlatte represents the 6th Congressional District of Virginia and serves as the Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, which has jurisdiction over technology issues such as patents, copyright, trademark law, antitrust matters and the Internet. He is also Co-Chair of the bipartisan Congressional Internet Caucus.
Shapiro also revealed the 2015 inductees to the CE Hall of Fame
