Irvine, Calif. – Cellphone maker Alcatel OneTouch expanded its selection of smart watches with the launch of a white sports version of the Alcatel OneTouch Watch at $149.
The company’s watches are available at Amazon and the company’s web store.
The new model, available only in a small/medium 7.2-inch band size for now, connects via Bluetooth 4.0 LE to Android and iOS smartphones. It tracks steps, heart rate, calories burned, and sleep time. On its 1.22-inch 240 by 204-pixel display, the watch displays text, email, and call notifications. The device can also be used to control the playback of smartphone-stored music and control a phone’s camera shutter to take selfies.
Unlike other smart watches, it features a USB port built into one end of the watchband, enabling it to plug directly into a computer to charge.
Other features include customizable watchface displays, NFC and 210mAh battery, said to last two to five days. It is promoted as water- and dust-proof.
The model joins a black version.
The watches are the company’s first smart watches, the first of which was unveiled at International CES.
Alcatel OneTouch is a TCL Communications brand.
