Krell president Bill McKiegan left Krell to become president of Dan D’Agostino Master Audio Systems. Worth noting is that the namesake of the company, Dan D’Agostino, is a former Krell co-founder.
McKiegan was Krell president for five years and had also worked as Krell’s sales and marketing VP from 1994 to 2006. He co-founded Krell in 1980.
“Dan and I are very much on the same page when it comes to what a high-end audio company should be,” McKiegan said. “It’s been inspiring to watch him build Dan D’Agostino Master Audio Systems from just a few product drawings five years ago to being the most acclaimed brand in high-end audio electronics in 2015.”
D’Agostino said he worked with McKiegan for about a dozen years and has known him for more than 20 years, “and for him to want to work with us again is the biggest vote of confidence we could imagine.”
D’Agostino and Krell co-founder Rondi D’Agostino left Krell in 2009, claiming they were forced out of their management roles by executives allied with private-equity fund KP Capital Partners. They alleged they were locked out of the company in violation of their employment agreements after trying to fire a KP-backed executive. KP Capital Partners, a New York City private-equity fund, purchased a 40 percent stake in Krell Industries earlier that year because Krell was having financial problems.
