Ridgefield Park, N.J. — CompUSA and Samsung, via its Four Seasons of Hope charity umbrella, have teamed up with golf legend Arnold Palmer for a special retail promotion that will benefit the Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children & Women.
During the promotion, which runs now through December, $1, $3 or $5 donation cards will be available at CompUSA checkouts for customers to purchase. The customer's name will be written on a golf-ball-shaped card that will be displayed in the store throughout the promotion. In addition, Samsung will donate $2 for every SyncMaster 730B or 930B flat-panel monitor that is sold during the period.
CompUSA store managers are also a part of the contributions as they compete to have their own internal store-friendly competition for the highest donor in the campaign. The top 16 managers participating in CompUSA stores will win a trip to Orlando, Fla., to play a round of golf at Arnold Palmer's Bay Hill Club and Lodge.
Samsung is also hosting an enter-to-win sweepstakes where consumers have a chance to win a $1,000 gift card for Callaway Golf Equipment, a Samsung 20.1-inch 204T LCD monitor or autographed pictures of Palmer.
“Samsung and CompUSA efforts have raised significant funds for the Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children & Women over the past three years, and we are honored to continue our support of the important work that the hospital is doing to help children and women,” said Peter Weedfald, sales and marketing consumer electronics senior VP and North American corporate marketing, at Samsung Electronics America.
The Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children & Women, located in Orlando, Fla., is the only hospital in the Southeast — and one of only six in the nation — dedicated to serving the unique needs of children and women, Samsung said. All money donated to the hospital will enhance the quality of life for patients during their stay there.
