Whoosh Taps Antimicrobial Expert

Toronto – Whoosh, maker of the Screen Shine screen cleaner, has hired biochemist Dr. Curtis White as its technical advisor.

White specializes in antimicrobial agents, and his expertise “will help us to develop the next generation of cleaning solutions that are required by today’s mobile consumer who is increasingly dependent on mobile devices to stay informed and entertained,” explained Whoosh CEO Jason Greenspan.

Screen Shine, a two-time CES Innovations Design and Engineering Award honoree, was developed to clean, polish and protect Apple Retina, TFT, glass, LCD, plasma, LCD, OLED, UltraHD, CRT, Eink and Ultra HD displays. The fingerprint-resistant solution is non-toxic, free of alcohol and ammonia, and is packaged with an antimicrobial cleaning cloth.

White is an 11-year veteran of Dow Corning, and guided technical activities for the company’s Sylgard antimicrobial treatment. The author of over 15 trade journal articles, seven peer-reviewed papers and five book chapters, he also served as general manager of the micronic filtration division at machine tool company F. Joseph Lamb, and more recently co-founded Aegis Environmental Management, a global supplier of solutions to microbial problems in buildings, enclosed transportation units, and consumer and medical textiles including wound care products and construction materials.
