Visioneer Intros Entry-Level Scanner

Pleasanton, Calif. — Scanner manufacturer Visioneer added an entry-level model to its line of OneTouch flatbed photo scanners today.

The OneTouch 9520 offers a resolution up to 4,800 by 9,600dpi with 48-bit color and features several dedicated scan-to-email, scan-to-print and scan-to-archive buttons for streamlining common scanning tasks. The buttons can also be customized.

The unit offers a built-in backlight and film holder for scanning 35mm slides and negatives or other transparent media.

The scanner, which is shipping immediately for a suggested $199, will bundle Corel’s Paint Shop Pro X photo editing software, ScanSoft's PaperPort document and image management program, and a suite of ArcSoft programs to create digital scrapbooks, scan 12-inch by 12-inch scrapbook pages, create DVD slideshows and customized CD labels.
