TrekStor Bows 1TB USB Storage Drive

7/16/2007 02:44:00 PM Eastern

East Rockaway, N.Y. — TrekStor, German manufacturer of USB storage devices, has introduced DataStation duo, a 1TB USB storage drive. The drive, which measures 3.5 inches, is compatible with Windows, Mac and Linux operating systems.

The product offers a “push-for-backup” archive function featuring Nero BackItUp2 Essentials software. According to a release, users do not have to load any backup settings, but instead they need only to hit a switch in order to immediately secure their selected data.

The company said the data can be password protected.

The suggested-$429 device is housed in aluminum, which is said to eliminate the need for a fan. It is packaged with a USB 2.0 cable, an external power supply, a Nero BackItUp2 software CD and other accessories. It is available through J&R Music and Computer World, Amazon.com and The StorStore.com.
