Irvine, Calif. - Toshiba introduced today as part of its back to school line up the Satellite P25-S607, its first Satellite notebook equipped with a 17-inch display.
The P25’s large display is mated with the Microsoft multimedia-centric Windows Media Center operating system. This gives the P25 the ability to record television programming via Media Center’s PVR capability and to store and organize a wide variety of other digital media.
The notebook is powered by a 2.8GHz Intel Pentium 4 with Hyper-Threading technology. It features 512MB of RAM, a 60GB hard drive, NVIDIA GeForce FX Go5200 graphics card, 802.11a/b wireless networking, an SD card slot, four USB 2.0 ports, a 1394 port and a remote control for handling the TV and movie viewing features. The P25 uses a DVD Multi drive for playing DVDs and burning CDs.
The unit carries a $2,799 suggested retail price and it is now shipping.
