TaskOne Swisses Out The iPhone

NEW YORK — New for the iPhone-toting survivalist is the TaskOne multi-tool case, a polycarbonate and aircraft aluminum sheath with 16 steel tools built in.

The TaskOne, launching on the crowd-funding site Indigogo.com, weighs just more than 3 ounces and is available in Slate Grey, Cherry Red, Jet Black and the Indiegogo-exclusive Orange Flame.

The tools included in TaskOne are a 2.5-inch knife with 0.75 inches of serrations, a 1.8-inch saw blade, small and large flathead screwdrivers, a medium Phillips screwdriver, pliers with integrated 3mm to 8mm wrench, wire cutters, six metric Allen wrenches in bike sizes 2 to 6, two spoke wrenches, a wire stripper, 120mm ruler, bottle opener and kickstand.

The blades are removable with a button touch to stow for air travel.

The first 200 customers to pledge $75 on Indiegogo will receive a Jet Black TaskOne when shipping begins in April. The regular retail will be $90, or $150 for one of the 150 Orange Flame models to be produced.
