Systemax Beefs Up Retail Team

3/14/2012 09:36:29 AM Eastern

Miami - Systemax, parent of the TigerDirect, CompUSA and Circuit
City brands, has added three senior executives to its retail unit, including
two former Sears and Best Buy VPs.

The trio includes Michael Amkreutz, previously merchandising VP for
Sears Holdings' online operations, and before that product management VP at
Newegg.com. He also worked on the CE manufacturing side for Hannspree, Hanns.G
and Sharp.

In his new role as merchandising executive VP, Amkreutz will lead
the strategic direction of merchandising for all channels within Systemax's
North American Technology Products Group (NATPG), the retail unit that was
formed and previously led by Gilbert Fiorentino.

Fiorentino was dismissed last year for purportedly pervasive
improprieties, and was succeeded last fall as chief executive by former Best
Buy Mobile CEO David Sprotsy.

The latest Best Buy recruit is Jed Stillman, previously a VP and
general manager heading the Best Buy Connect and subscription services businesses,
who joins Systemax as strategy and services executive VP. In his new role he
will be responsible for strategic planning and will work closely with the management
team to build the company's services and applications business.

Also joining Systemax's executive ranks is Michael Jones,
formerly chief information officer for Michael's Stores. In his new role, which
carries the same title, he will be "accountable for the leadership and
strategic direction of the information technology teams for the NATPG," the
company said.

 "All are experienced
executives and proven leaders with strong backgrounds in their respective
fields," Sprotsy said in a statement. "They will be tremendous assets to our
team as we execute on our goal to improve the experience for our SMB
[small-to-medium business], retail and online customers."

Systemax, a Fortune 1000 company, sells branded and private-label
PCs, computer components and supplies, CE, and industrial products through a
system of company-owned e-commerce websites, retail stores, relationship
marketers and direct-mail catalogs in North America and Europe under the TigerDirect,
CompUSA, Circuit City, MISCO, WStore and Global Industrial brands.
