San
Diego – Sony added to its line of Walkman MP3 players today with the latest
model, the NWZ-W252 in the W series.
Engineered
for fitness users, the 2GB NWZ-W252 is a headphones/MP3 player combo unit with
a water-resistant and lightweight frame that will withstand use in the rain,
Sony said.
The player
comes with the company’s Content Transfer software that moves music files and
playlists from a PC or iTunes to the device (but not DRM files).
It also
has a quick-charge function that reportedly gives the player 90 minutes of use
after three minutes of charge time. Sony said the full battery life is about 11
hours.
It will be
available this month for “about $60.”
