SmartDisk Adds New Media Player

Las Vegas — SmartDisk added another product to its FlashTrax line of portable media players at the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) convention, here, today.

The FlashTrax XT, a hard-drive-based portable device for storing, playing and displaying digital images, video and music.

The unit features a 3.6-inch foldout LCD screen and slots for flash memory cards. It has inputs to connect to an external video device in addition to outputting stored content to televisions or projectors. The device can play MP3 files and offers a built-in FM tuner.

FlashTrax XT can also serve as an external hard drive with a 480MBps transfer rate and includes a rechargeable lithium-ion battery.

The unit will ship in May. A 40GB unit will retail for a suggested $399.99 and an 80GB version will retail for $499.99.
