Las
Vegas – Jason Oxman, industry affairs senior VP for the Consumer Electronics
Association (CEA), has been named CEO of the Electronic Transactions
Association (ETA), the global trade association representing the payments
processing industry.
The
appointment, effective May 7, was made during the 2012 ETA Annual Meeting and
Expo, here, which continues through April 19.
As
CEO of ETA, Oxman will serve as the payments industry’s spokesman, advocate and
ambassador before state and federal policymakers, other industries and
partners, and the media on behalf of ETA’s more than 500 member companies. He
will also direct the staff, operations and initiatives of the association.

the global flow of commerce possible. I

Oxman,
who joined CEA in November 2006, previously worked at the Federal
Communications Commission to develop and implement technology and broadband
policies. A former broadcast journalist
at commercial and public radio stations, Oxman is also an attorney. He serves on the boards of two non-profit
organizations, Learning Ally in Washington D.C., and the Cushing’s Island
Conservation Corporation, an environmental land trust in Maine.
