10/01/2003 11:09:00 AM Eastern

Victoria, British Columbia – Digital imaging software maker ACD Systems announced today the release of the newest version of its flagship program ACDSee 6.0

ACDSee is an omnibus image management program that allows consumers to view, organize, search, print and share their digital image libraries. New to version 6.0 is the ability to rate images, burn photos to CD/DVDs and quickly view and locate photos from different folders and categories with the Easy Select and Selective Browsing features.

The Easy Select feature allows users to select multiple folders and categories to get a combined view of all images that are contained in them. The Selective Browsing feature amasses the search results from different folders and categories simultaneously and then displays all the images in one window.

ACDSee 6.0 also offers a new Image Rating system, where photos can be assigned a numerical rating allowing the user to sort by photo rating. Additional new features of ACDSee 6.0 include: and new edit panel, magnifying glass view, HTML slideshows and a three-step Acquire Wizard that automatically finds pictures for importing from cameras, scanners, CDs and other devices.

The software is shipping now for a suggested retail price of $49.99.
