'Small' Bluetooth Mobile, PDA Headset Debuts

Ontario, Calif.— A “stylish” and lightweight 2.4GHz headset for mobile phones and PDAs is available from Soyo Group, a global provider of computer, consumer electronics and broadband telecommunications products.

The FreeStyler Bluetooth headset comes in a sleek design with a fit comfortable for all-day use, said Soyo. It is said to be among the smallest and lightest headsets available, according to its maker. It weighs about 0.5 ounce and measures 2.3 inches in length. The headset is designed to fit neatly over the ear, or users can choose an ear plug or clip, which are both included in the shelf package.

The FreeStyler has a rechargeable battery that provides up to five hours of talktime and up to 120 hours of standby time. The LED indicator on the headset alerts users to a low battery. An AC power adapter is included for recharging the battery. Bluetooth 1.1 compatibility gives users a range of about 33 feet from the headset to the connected device.

Suggested retail is $49.99, and the headset currently is available.

Leather Case Shows Off, Protects Treo 700

Readfield, Maine— RhinoSkin has unveiled a new case for the Treo 700, designed to protect as well as to look good. The protective shield beneath the sheepskin surface of the leather flip case, called model 00619, creates a stylish and secure shell for the newest smart phone, said the company.

The custom case, at a suggested $34.95 retail, includes a design that allows for ease of access to all of the Treo's ports and function buttons. Inside the front flap, the case has slots made to hold up to two SD cards and three business/credit cards. The RhinoClip removable post-and-belt clip secures the Treo on the user's waist.
