Vuzix Partners with CyberTimez to Improve the Lives of People in the Low Vision and Blind Community through Vuzix Smart Glasses and CyberTimez Applications

ROCHESTER, N.Y., Aug. 3, 2016 /PRNewswire/ — Vuzix® Corporation (NASDAQ: VUZI), a leading supplier of Smart Glasses, Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) technologies and products for the consumer and enterprise markets, is pleased to announce that it is assisting people in the low vision and blind community with M100 Smart Glasses especially enabled with CyberTimez visual aid software. CyberTimez focuses on automating the Internet of Things (ioT) using wearable devices such as smart glasses and watches. CyberTimez technology aids people by magnifying and reading text using Cyber Eyez, an application that has the ability to enable low vision and blind users to magnify anything in their environment up to 15 times. The application can also read text in over 100 languages without a connection to the internet.  In addition to Cyber Eyez, several other vision adding applications are pre-installed on the Vuzix M100 including email, calendar and maps, among others, are helping the low vision and blind community, which has also had great success using the M100 audio recorder and bar code scanning apps, as well.

Leveraging funding provided by the DC Center for Independent Living (DCCIL), starting this month, Vuzix and CyberTimez will begin to equip 18 local area residents with M100 Smart Glasses to help improve their mobility and enable them to read text. Last month, CyberTimez also showcased the M100 enabled with its technology at the Veterans Administration (VA) Medical Center in Washington, DC.
