SKAA Donations Support Tiny HeartsCan Foundation During Heart Month

SKAA is Donating $10 for Every Streetheart Receiver Purchased During the Month of February; SKAA is Also Matching Additional Independent Donations to This Foundation Made Separately Via the Skaastore.com Website Throughout the Month of February

EDMONTON, Alberta, Canada, Feb. 9, 2023 – Eleven Engineering, Inc. (www.elevenengineering.com), a market leader in semiconductor products for wireless audio for portable, home theater, multi-room, professional, 12 Volt (car, truck, motorcycle, power sports, marine) and gaming applications, is proud to announce it is supporting the Tiny HeartsCan foundation during Heart Month by donating $10 for every Streetheart receiver purchased during the month of February. SKAA is also encouraging others to donate to this Edmonton, AB-based foundation separately via the skaastore website throughout the month for which SKAA will match each donation.

“Tiny HeartsCan Foundation is the only not-for-profit organization in North America working to improve prenatal detection of Congenital Heart Disease (CHD) through targeted sonographer training and public outreach,” explained Rex Whitehead, Eleven Engineering Executive Vice President – Sales & Marketing. “We decided to open our own hearts by donating $10 from the sale of every Streetheart, as well as match the donations that our customers make through the SKAAstore website to Tiny HeartsCan Foundation. We couldn’t think of a more appropriate organization to support during Heart Month.”

For many families affected by CHD, February is known as “Heart Month”, which is an opportunity to raise awareness and celebrate the journeys of Heart Warriors. Tiny HeartsCan Foundation’s mission is to raise awareness and to enable the earliest detection of CHD to ensure the best possible outcome for children and parents alike by providing specialized training for sonographers to help them better detect heart defects at the 20-week anatomy scan. This allows families and infants to receive the best medical support as early as possible.

“Congenital Heart Defects (CHDs) are the most common type of birth defect, and the leading cause of infant mortality due to defect worldwide,” explained Amy Porter, Tiny HeartsCan Executive Director. “One in 100 infants has a heart defect, so for most of Western Canada, that means that approximately 1,100 infants will be born with a broken heart annually. Unfortunately, half these infants will not receive a potentially life-saving diagnosis before they are born. For the month of February, Tiny HeartsCan Foundation is getting a helping hand from our friends at SKAA, and we and all of the families that will benefit from these generous donations could not be more grateful.”
