Round Room LLC acquires Wireless Zone®, adds 357 stores to footprint

Agreement marks first acquisition for nation’s largest Verizon Authorized Retailer

INDIANAPOLIS (Nov. 9, 2016) – Round Room LLC, the nation’s largest Verizon Authorized Retailer, has acquired Wireless Zone®, a 357-store franchise system that offers the latest cellphones, accessories and service. This agreement marks the first acquisition for Round Room, growing its overall footprint to 1,160 TCC and Wireless Zone stores across 41 states.

Headquartered in Rocky Hill, Connecticut, Wireless Zone is the largest independent Verizon Wireless franchise in the U.S. The company will continue operating under the Wireless Zone banner.

“By bringing two of the wireless industry’s most respected and tenured brands under a single owner, Round Room is able to enhance the wireless experience for customers nationwide,” said Scott Moorehead, CEO of Round Room. “This acquisition affords us the opportunity to bring the knowledge and experience we’ve gained with TCC over the past 25 years to another successful wireless agent.”

In the past year, Round Room has grown its store footprint 33 percent—from 776 to 1,160 locations.

In addition to TCC, Round Room also owns and operates Redux, a company with patented technology to remove moisture from wet cell phones and return them to working condition, and Culture of Good Inc., a company that helps organizations build a cultural movement that inspires employees, ignites positive changes in the world and impacts their bottom lines.

TCC makes ongoing investments in the communities in which it does business through its Making Communities Better movement. In 2016, its efforts have included giving supply packs to 5,000 teachers, contributing $100,000 for materials used to improve the environment and donating 135,000 backpacks to children across the nation. TCC recently launched its new nationwide corporate giving program, TCC Gives Inc., which aims to serve people, animals and the environment in the more than 500 communities where TCC operates nationwide.

In 2003, Wireless Zone created the Wireless Zone Foundation for Giving® Inc. to develop a system of supporting charities on a national level as well as the charities and organizations in the communities where its locally owned and operated stores thrive. Structuring the Foundation for Giving enabled Wireless Zone to donate as much as $457,981 in grants in a single year.

“There is a natural cultural alignment between Round Room and Wireless Zone as we both share a value for investing in the communities we serve,” said Moorehead. “We are eager to expand our philanthropic efforts and give back to the communities in which Wireless Zone operates.”
