ProSource Hosts Operations Best Practices Conference in Las Vegas

Member Education Initiative Attracts 88 ProSource Power and PRO Members

SOUTHLAKE, Texas Aug. 15, 2018 ProSource, the largest audio, video, and integration buying group in the United States, announced today the success of the 2018 Operations Best Practices Conference, held Aug. 1 and 2 in Las Vegas. With 88 ProSource Power and PRO members in attendance, the conference covered key performance indicators (KPIs) for enhanced business operations.

ProSource President and CEO Dave Workman led off the conference with the PRO Operations Best Practices overview focused on cost, margin, mix, and other KPIs used to monitor and track profitability. Other critical topics of interest included inventory management, freight costs, compensation plans and labor rates, finance, and trends in employee retention.

Suggestions on how to manage California Proposition 65 were introduced, and participants weighed in on their current software systems, social media strategies, and the management and monitoring of vendor trailing credit programs. Peer-to-peer discussions via member roundtable discussions followed the core agenda points.

The Power Best Practice session kicked off with cause and effect, studies in business performance, and the power of key metrics, all presented to the ProSource Power members by Paul Starkey and Steve Firszt, Co-Founders of Vital Management. This was followed by the introduction of a process-driven workflow solution by iPoint that outlined the details of creating a business ecosystem.

“The meeting was completely worthwhile. Steve Firszt and Paul Starkey led the morning and had the ears of everyone. The afternoon was a series of ‘hot topics’ from health care to compensation. Lots of nuggets of information learned from the presenters and attendees,” contributed Dave Gilbert, Senior Vice President, Hi-Fi Sales. “This was the perfect forum for my admin person. He got a lot from it as it gave him a view of the big picture.”

“I had a blast and learned a ton from the others in our group,” said Rivers Meek, Vice President, Finance, at Spectrum Technology Integrators. Terrence Marcel, Vice President of Operations at the same firm stated, “The meeting was definitely worth the trip for us!”

“Our members have spoken,” said Workman. “The message is loud and clear that our 2018 Operations Best Practices Conference was one of the most successful events that attendees have overwhelmingly rated as an excellent experience with 100 percent committing to participate in future meetings.”
