FAIRFIELD, N.J. – Jan. 23, 2017 – Middle Atlantic Products today announced that its DC Power Distribution solution was selected for TechHome’s Mark of Excellence Disruptor Award and Sound & Video Contractor’s 2016 Innovative Product Award. DC Power Distribution is the industry’s first centralized DC power solution designed to eliminate the complexities and space constraints of powering the growing number of small DC-powered devices in many applications. In September, the product was also honored with CEDIA’s 2016 Best New Product Award and Residential Systems’ 2016 CEDIA Best of Show Awards.
DC Power Distribution helps reduce design modifications by balancing power demands with limited space and the small number of power outlets available to these systems in one universal solution. As a result, integrators can streamline their installations, save time, and reliably power devices.
The DC Power Distribution reliably powers and protects the growing number of DC-powered devices in AV, security, and residential applications. With this solution, integrators no longer have to waste valuable time trying to work around this issue and add to installation costs. Available in two models 45W DC compact and 125W DC 1RU systems it’s ideal for both small installations such as a furniture enclosure or wall box, or for larger, more complex equipment closets. Designed with a color-coded screw terminal connector platform and polarity labeling for its 5V, 12V, 18V, and 24V outputs, installation is intuitive. Integrators simply trim leads to length. Other key features include multiple voltage outputs supported in one unit to address the needs of a variety of components that could be connected to it; reliable multi-level protection on both AC input and DC outputs; USB ports to conveniently power compatible products; and AC convenience outlets on the 45W model. LED indicator lights show activity on each output and alert users to maximum capacity on each voltage bank.
TechHome’s Mark of Excellence Awards honors the best in custom integration and installed technology, with the Disruptor Award distinguishing the product that has most disrupted an existing product channel. Winners were selected by a panel of independent industry experts, who judged written product entries, and were announced at the Mark of Excellence Awards Reception on Jan. 6 during CES in Las Vegas. Sound & Video Contractor’s 6th annual reader’s choice Innovative Product Awards acknowledges both electronic and mechanical innovations. Readers voted from among nearly 70 submitted products.
