LifeProof athletes Lizzie Armanto (skate), Tom Schaar (skate) and Gary Young (BMX), fresh off of appearances at X Games Minneapolis, are among the stars scheduled to compete throughout the event.
The LifeProof athlete team brings a wealth of experience and accomplishments to the Vans U.S. Open of Surfing. Armanto will be competing in Vans Park Series. She won the 2013 and 2014 Van Doren Invitationals and went pro this year with her own board from Birdhouse. She also became the first woman ever to grace the cover of Transworld Skateboarding.
Schaar will compete in the Vans Park Series. He is a seven-time X Games medalist, including silver in Skateboard Big Air and Skateboard Park from X Games Minneapolis earlier in July.
Young will compete in the Vans BMX Pro Cup Series at the Vans Pro Park course. His consistent performance and strong riding skills have earned him a top 10 ranking in every VPC Global Qualifier stop and he won the Van Doren Invitational in 2014.
