Wynit Adds MakerBot

North Syracuse, N.Y. — CE, imaging and security distributor Wynit has added MakerBot’s array of 3D printers and scanners to its line card.

The partnership covers the educational, engineering and design markets across North America.

Included are MakerBot’s line of 3D Replicator printers, featuring desktop, mini-compact, Z18 and 2X Experimental models, as well as its Digitizer desktop 3D scanner, PLA and ABS filaments, and other 3D printing accessories.

Mark Schulze, MakerBot’s Americas and emerging markets general manager, described Wynit as “a strategic and integral partner” in its effort to reach its target markets and further expand its sales channels, thanks to a dedicated 3D team that will offer “comprehensive support, advice and training to get resellers up and running quickly.”

For its part, Wynit, based here, envisions the partnership as “a great opportunity to expand our expertise and service capabilities around 3D printing technology,” said Rick Slagle, the distributor’s purchasing, marketing and business development VP.

Founded in 2009, Brooklyn, N.Y.-based MakerBot was an early entrant into the 3D desktop printing market.
