Vayyar Imaging has updated its portable wall scanner to enable DIY homeowners to see through such dense material as plaster, drywall and concrete.
The Walabot DIY Plus touts pro-grade “Superman vision,” offering a visual map of the inside of a wall. Geared toward anyone who wants to make home improvements, the device uses the company’s proprietary RF-based sensors to see up to 4 inches beneath a wall’s surface. It can attach to an Android phone and be controlled via a free app, displaying a 3D map of the interior of the wall.
In addition to seeing through a wider variety of wall materials, the Walabot DIY Plus also features a new product casing with easy slide strips, as well as a software upgrade meant to enhance scanning accuracy.
It’s currently available directly from Vayyar for $89.99. Malcolm Berman, marketing director, told TWICE the company has done a few small rollouts with retailers and intends to have a larger presence in retail by next year.
