ProSource, the industry’s largest A/V specialty and custom integration buying group, has brought home-automation expert Jim Carroll on board to advise its Internet of Things (IoT) committee.
Carroll is a co-founder of Savant and former executive at Lucent and Excel Switching, and currently serves as president of the Connected Home Advisory, an industry consultancy.
In his newest role, he will help the ProSource brain trust evaluate and select hardware and managed service solutions to enable member business growth.
He joins an IoT team that includes Bjorn and Kris Dybdahl of Bjorn’s Audio Video Home Theater, Jim Lind of Nebraska Furniture Mart, and such vendors as Access Networks, Control4, Core Brands, Ihiji, Seura, and Vantage.

“We are thrilled to add Jim to this committee,” said ProSource business development director and IoT lead Andy Orozco. “He has over 30 years of experience in technology and will provide insight into the rapidly changing connected home market.”
