Hoffman Estates, Ill. — Sears and Kmart customers can now pick up their online orders in-store at either chain.
Parent company Sears Holdings said the move gives customers the choice of over 2,000 pickup locations.
“Leveraging the breadth of both Sears and Kmart’s online and in-store networks means more convenience for members, and opens an even wider brand-name product selection available to fans of both stores,” said Sears Holdings executive VP Imran Jooma.
Jooma noted that customers are increasingly opting for multichannel transactions, which now comprise 60 percent of the company’s online sales. He added that online and multichannel sales increased 26 percent last quarter over the prior-year period.
The free service promises at-store order retrieval within five minutes and will allow customers to pick up branded merchandise that is exclusive to Sears or Kmart at either chain.
