Hoffman Estates, Ill. – Sears Holdings has trimmed 100 positions at its headquarters complex here and 15 posts at other corporate support locations.
The cuts, effective immediately, were made across multiple departments, according to the hometown Chicago Tribune and other published reports.
The layoffs represent less than 2 percent of Sears’ headquarters staff.
The company, which lost $548 million in the third quarter, axed thousands of store-level workers and closed some 235 locations last year.
The corporate layoffs follow the resignation of Sears’ online president Imran Jooma. Besides playing a central role in the company’s omni-channel strategy, Jooma also headed marketing, pricing and financial services. He leaves next week.
