Extended warranty provider and underwriter Assurant has promoted Jeff Unterreiner to president of its U.S. Connected Living unit.
Unterrreiner was previously senior VP of the Global Connected Living team, headed by president Manny Becerra.

“Jeff has been successful in several critical leadership roles at Assurant and is the right person to ensure we continue to meet the needs of our clients and their customers in the U.S.,” Becerra said.
He said the appointment was prompted by the considerable growth of Assurant’s U.S. business in recent years.

Unterreiner joined Assurant in 1996 and has since held a number of key roles including strategic business development VP and chief marketing officer for Connected Living in Europe.
In other Assurant news, the company has extended its 32-year relationship with Conn’s, the multiregional big-box chain.
The partnership began in 1986 with credit insurance to protect consumer purchases of CE, majaps and computers, and later expanded to extended service protection plans.
Under the latest renewal, Assurant will continue to underwrite credit insurance and provide product protection and repair service plans.
