David Warfel, Lighting Designer, Exclusive ProSource Partner

To help steer lighting initiative for ProSource members

As part of an effort to provide expert advice and education to its members, ProSource announced it has an exclusive agreement with lighting designer, author and educator, David Warfel.

“Bringing David on board as an exclusive advisor for the ProSource membership underscores our commitment to the number one growth category for our organization,” said Dave Workman, CEO and President of ProSource in the announcement. “Working with the Lighting and Shading Committee and our internal category champions, we welcome David’s guidance in the development of ProSource training initiatives and evaluation of product offerings.”

“Light is a fundamental component of the human experience that requires increased technical knowledge and advanced digital integration. No one is better placed to master the convergence of light and technology than ProSource members, and I am thrilled to be a part of this critical initiative,” said Warfel in a statement.

Previous to this position, Warfel chaired the lighting design program at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Warfel currently teaches continuing education seminars in lighting design, is a registered continuing education provider for the American Institute of Architects and serves on the Educational Material Review committee for the Illuminating Engineering Society.

Additionally, to better help members determine who should attend trainings from their organizations, ProSource District Managers Nicole Riddle and Samantha Summerfield completed the American Lighting Association (ALA) Lighting Specialist Certification test. The certification encompasses the industry trends, technology, and technical developments of the residential lighting industry.
