Irvine, Calif. — Majap wholesaler Purcell Murray will remain the exclusive distributor of Bosch, Thermador and Gaggenau products in California and northern Nevada under a renewed agreement with BSH Home Appliances.
The pact, which covers the majap dealer and builder channels, extends the companies’ 22-year relationship through December 2017.
Over that time the distributor “has demonstrated spectacular growth and solid performance,” said BSH president/CEO Michael Traub, and played a critical role in the continued growth of the manufacturer’s mass premium and luxury brands.
“This dedication has been so convincing to BSH that we have offered an early extension of their distributor agreement,” he said.
As part of the extended contract, Purcell Murray will transition its current showroom in Huntington Beach, Calif., to BSH’s state-of-art showroom here in order to provide “greater exposure and enhance [the] overall consumer experience,” the partners said. In addition, the distributor has added 95,000 square feet of warehouse space to its existing 171,000-square-foot facilities to accommodate increased demand and the re-emergence of the builder business.
BSH is a wholly owned subsidiary of Germany’s BSH Bosch und Siemens Hausgeräte GmbH, with U.S. manufacturing facilities in New Bern, N.C., and La Follette, Tenn.
Purcell Murray has distributed premium majaps throughout California and northern Nevada for more than 30 years. It maintains a 13,000-square-foot showroom and cooking demonstration center and over 143,000 square feet of warehousing at its headquarters facility in Brisbane, Calif., and a second 123,000-square -foot distribution center in Southern California.
