Windows Mobile 10 Notches A Win At T-Mobile

Windows Phone 10 notched a win with T-Mobile’s launch today of the carrier’s first Windows Mobile 10 smartphone, the $139 Alcatel OneTouch Fierce XL. The LTE-equipped device is also Alcatel OneTouch’s first Windows Mobile 10 phone in the U.S. market.

The Fierce XL will join only one other Windows phone in T-Mobile’s selection, a pre-owned Lumia 435 running Windows 8.1.

The only other carrier offering a Windows Mobile 10 phone is AT&T, which offers the Lumia 950. AT&T also offers the Windows 8.1 Lumia 640XL.

For its part, Verizon offers three Windows 8.1 phones from Microsoft, LG and HTC. Sprint currently offers no Windows phones.

Microsoft offers Lumia Windows Mobile 10 phones unlocked on its web store.

At T-Mobile, the Fierce XL is also available with an interest-free financing plan at $0 down at $5.84/month for 23 months with a 24th payment of $5.67.

The phone features a 5.5-inch 720p display, 1.1GHz quad-core processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB storage, 32GB MicroSD Card slot, HD Voice, Wi-Fi calling, 8- and 2-megapixel cameras, and LTE operating in T-Mobile’s three LTE bands: 1900MHz, AWS and 700MHz.

The carrier also announced availability of the LG K7 Android phone at $139 and the ZTE Falcon Hotspot at $79.
