Voxx’s New 360fly 4K Pro Camera Marketed As Security Solution

Voxx is bringing to market a professional version of its 360fly camera.

The new 360fly 4K Pro camera, from Voxx’s Advanced Solutions Corporation (VASC), is aimed at the video surveillance and security market, functioning as a 24/7 livestream security camera. It’s targeted toward such enterprise markets as public transportation agencies, education and youth programs, real estate, and hospitality and events coordinators. The camera produces immersive 360-degree 4K live video from a specific location, with the ability to customize the viewing perspective.

Voxx suggested other uses as well: For example, hotels and car services can utilize the camera as a security source and livestream in a lobby or car, 24/7, or a realtor can showcase an open house to potential buyers unable to attend, or for those looking for property out of state, allowing them to view the house in 360 degrees through livestreaming.

The company also offers several other camera solutions for enterprise.

The 4K Pro streams continuous 360-degree 4K video over Wi-Fi or via an HDMI 1.4 cable in native equirectangular format for Facebook and YouTube posting.

Retailing for $799, the fully ruggedized, sealed metal housing 4K Pro camera pairs with the free 360fly mobile app and delivers the same smart features as its predecessor, the 360fly 4K camera, Voxx said.

Features include: 4K, 2,880 by 2,880, 30 fps video; shock resistance up to 5 feet; integrated USB 2.0 input and HDMI 1.4 output cables; accelerometer, e-compass, GPS and gyroscope; IP67 rated water protection (submersible up to 3.3 feet); and internal 64GB storage.

“360fly is committed to being on the forefront of delivering easy to use and innovative multi-functional products for a variety of use cases,” said Peter Aloumanis, president of 360fly. “The 4K Pro complements our current product lineup — delivering a camera best suited for stationary, long-term environments where the user desires a continuous, uninterrupted video.”

“As an extension of our long-standing relationship with 360fly, VASC is proud to distribute this product to the public safety market and will introduce it for the first time at the ASIS Show in Dallas,” said Tom Malone, VASC president. “360fly 4K Pro will be demonstrated inside the EyeLock booth (No. 1201) at the show. EyeLock, a market leader of iris-based identity authentication solutions, is a major-owned subsidiary of Voxx International.”

The 4K Pro is available online at 360fly.com.
