Irvine, Calif. — Vizio revealed Monday a special Father’s Day promotion called “This One’s For Dad,” offering family members the opportunity to nominate their father for a chance to win a package of prizes.
Vizio is inviting sons and daughters to visit Vizio.com/Dad to upload a video or photo essay nominating their dad and sharing a personal story of admiration that makes a case father’s worthiness to win the grand prize.
The father recognized in the winning submission will receive a Vizio Home Theater Gift Package in time for Father’s Day.
Entries can be submitted now through May 28th. Consumers are then invited to help Vizio determine the winner by voting for their favorite story from May 29 through June 4.
In addition to a complete Vizio home theater — which includes a 60-inch E-series smart TV and 54-inch 3.0 home-theater soundbar — the grand-prize winner will receive a $500 Walmart gift card, one-year Netflix gift subscription, and a paid trip for two (travel and lodging not to exceed $1,500) to the DreamWorks Animation campus in Glendale, Calif.
“Since dads are always looking for the latest and greatest technology, this Father’s Day, we want to give one special father the surprise of a lifetime – a Vizio Home Theater Prize Package,” said Lily Knowles, Vizio product marketing VP. “We’re excited to celebrate fathers across the country and can’t wait to surprise one winning dad with the ultimate Father’s Day gift.”
Eleven runner-ups will each receive a $100 Walmart gift card.
The individual who nominates the grand-prize winner will also win a Vizio 32-inch full-array LED smart HDTV (E320Fi-B2), a $100 Walmart gift card and a six-month Netflix gift subscription.
Vizio said it will also donate a 60-inch HDTV (E600i-B3), a 54-inch 3.0 soundbar (S5430W-C2) and a DreamWorks Blu-ray Disc package consisting of 12 popular movie titles to the Orange County, Calif.-based Miracles for Kids organization. The non-profit’s mission is to improve the lives of children and families affected by childhood cancer and other life-threatening illnesses.
Vizio said it will also promote the contest on social networks using the hashtag #ThisOnesForDad.
