Toshiba, Pepsi Launch Fall DVD Player Rebate Promotion
WAYNE, N.J. — Toshiba America is running a joint fall DVD-video promotion with Pepsi-Cola featuring the “Scooby-Doo and Halloween” theme.
The promotion gives Pepsi purchasers coupons good for cash rebates on select Toshiba DVD players, including the company’s two progressive-scan models (the SD9200 and SD6200). The promotion runs through Oct. 31, and consumers have until Dec. 31 to redeem coupons on a Toshiba DVD player purchase.
The campaign is using a “Scooby-Doo” sticker on an estimated 11 million cartons of the 24-pack “value cube” of Pepsi, Diet Pepsi, Pepsi One and Mountain Dew soft drinks. The sticker will promote rebate offers (for a total of up to $100) on Toshiba DVD Players and on the upcoming direct-to-video film Scooby Doo and The Alien Invaders.
Rebate coupons for Toshiba DVD players will also be placed in various Warner Home Video DVDs, Dixie Paper Cups and Plates, and Fuji Film. Rebates for Toshiba DVD players will be as follows: $50 for the company’s Super ColorStream Pro progressive-scan-equipped models SD9200 and SD6200; $25 for models SD5109, SD3205, SD4205, SD2200 and SD2150; and $15 for models SD2050, SD1600 and SD1200.
