Sonos solidified its commitment to smart multiroom audio with its latest device, the 25.6-inch Beam soundbar.
Priced at $399, the Beam will feature support for Amazon Alexa when it ships July 17, while support for additional digital assistants will be added later, said the company.
In addition to voice control, the Beam can be operated via the Sonos app or via third-party apps and hardware. Those enveloped within the Sonos ecosystem can link the Beam to their Sonos Ones or Subs for surround sound.

Other details include four custom-built elliptical full-range woofers, three passive radiators, one tweeter and an array of five linear far-field microphones. It comes with power, Ethernet and HDMI-ARC ports and ships with an optical audio adapter.
The Beam will be offered in black or white fabric with matte finishes.
Sonos also announced that AirPlay 2 will be available in July via a free software update, enabling users to play content directly from their iOS device on a Sonos speaker with added control via Siri.
