Vernon, Calif. — QFX added to its collection of retro-style boomboxes with the launch of the J-22, which features four-band radio, cassette and playback of MP3 music on USB sticks and SD cards.
The $49-suggested boombox, available in black and wood finishes, also features cassette-to-MP3 conversion, hideaway handle, foldable antenna, and AM/FM and SW1-SW2 reception. It runs on four D batteries and comes with 120-220V 50-60Hz AC power supply.
Speaking of retro, the first Walkman, a portable cassette player, hit the market 35 years ago on July 1, 1979.
