RCA Throws UHD TV A Curve

   LAS VEGAS — RCA TV from On Corp. is introducing at International CES 2015 this week its first curved 4K Ultra HDTV LED TV featuring a 65-inch screen size.

RCA’s C900-series model is one of seven RCA Ultra HDTVs for 2015.

These LED 4K UHD TVs, priced from $949.99 to $2,999.99, include Smart TV functionality with support for 4K streaming services, HEVC H.265 and VP9 (YouTube UHD) decoding, as well as four HDMI 2.0 inputs and HDCP 2.2 content protection support.

 Additional performance features include an advanced upscaling engine, color enhancement and super optimum frame reproduction. Two models feature a 60 watt/six driver, detachable, advanced sound system.

The curved screen C900 series model features include an advanced up-scaling engine with multi-directional scaling technology; high-tap filters with programmable parameter; de-jagging support; and video feather artifact detection and removal.

Other picture-processing features include Pure Color enhancement with detail enhancement and recovery; scene detection; 3D adaptive color control; and 3D adaptive sharpness control.

It also has Super Optimum Frame Reduction with Advanced Halo Reduction Plus, Motion compensated frame-rate conversion and Motion Blur Elimination.

The RCA 65C900 will also incorporate an advanced sound system, and will be available in the spring at a price to be announced later.
