Mophie has launched its first battery cases with wireless charging.
The Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge Juice Packs are compatible with the Qi wireless charging standard, the technology employed in Samsung’s charging pads.
When asked why Mophie decided to go with Samsung for its first such device, a Mophie spokesman cited a user base already familiar with wireless charging. “Based on market insights, Samsung is one of the earliest platforms to truly garner adoption of wireless charging technology,” he told TWICE. “We felt it was appropriate to offer wireless charging to a customer base that is already accustomed to the convenience of this feature.”
The 3,300 mAh Juice Pack provides 11 additional hours of talk time, four hours of web browsing, seven hours of video playback and 28 hours of music with the Galaxy S7. For the S7 Edge, users can receive up to 13 additional hours of talk time, five hours of web browsing, 11 hours of video playback and 40 hours of music.
Both versions will come in black or Rose Gold for a $99.95 suggested retail.
