Lowe’s smartphone user interface for controlling an Iris home-automation system

Mooresville, N.C. — Lowe’s expanded its selection of Iris home-automation products with the addition of four products that connect to its hub, which enables on-site and off-site monitoring and control of home systems from a smartphone, PC or tablet.

The new products join 50 other products already available nationwide in Lowe’s stores.

The four new products consist of a smart garage-door controller, electronic pet door, window blinds controller and hose faucet timer. They join security cameras, smoke detectors, water leak detectors, door locks, smart plugs, light switches and the like from such companies as General Electric, Kwikset, Schlage, Whirlpool, Orbit Irrigation Products and PetSafe.

The new Z-Wave garage-door controller features a tilt sensor to alerts users who drive away but leave the door open.

The PetSafe Electronic SmartDoor enables users to monitor and control pet access via a customizable schedule and record pet movement. The device recognizes pets wearing a collar sensor.

The Iris motorized window blinds controller enables remote control and scheduling of blinds to manage energy consumption.

The Orbit hose-faucet water timer installs on any hose faucet, so users can remotely turn the hose on/off or schedule watering.
