Kaleidescape, the maker of movie servers and players for the home, has expanded its selection of downloadable movies and TV shows for the Kaleidescape movie store with an agreement to license movies and TV shows from 20th Century Fox.
The titles include new movie releases and Fox’s catalog of movies and television seasons.
With the announcement, Kaleidescape has licensed more than 11,000 movies and more than 2,000 television seasons from Warner Bros. Digital Distribution, Lionsgate, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, NBCUniversal, The Walt Disney Studios, and Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment.
Kaleidescape has also licensed 4K Ultra HD titles with High Dynamic Range from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment and 4K Ultra HD titles from The Orchard, K2 Communications and Moving Art.
This license agreement includes such franchises such as X-Men and Die Hard, DreamWorks Animation titles such as Madagascar, How to Train Your Dragon, and Shrek. Other titles include The Sound of Music and Birdman. Television series include Homeland, How I Met Your Mother, and Modern Family.
Fox previously announced plans to offer downloadable titles in 4K with HDR. “We believe in supporting secure and premium platforms and services, and as we recently announced our upcoming slate being available on 4K Ultra HD with High Dynamic Range, we are excited to share that our titles will be available on Kaleidescape’s new 4K Ultra HD movie player,” said Danny Kaye, EVP of global research and tech strategy for the Fox Innovation Lab and Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment.
At September’s CEDIA Expo, Kaleidescape launched its Encore line of video players, including the 4K Strato and 1080p Alto.
