JVC Bows Dual-Mode Headphones

JVC is introducing a new set of dual-mode headphones that can act as an alternative to the traditional one-size-fits-all configuration most commonly associated with noise-cancelling headphones.

The company’s HA-NC80 model allows users to choose the noise-cancelling mode that best fits their particular situation. The product offers both “wide” and “low” modes with the “wide” mode designed to handle wider frequency noise often found on an airplane and the “low” mode targeted at cancelling the kind of noise one generally encounters on a train or bus.

The headphones feature fully padded, closed earpieces and according to JVC, they deliver up to 75 percent noise reduction.

In addition, the headphones can be used with the noise-cancellation features turned off. An included dual-plug adapter allows for the product to be used with a commercial airplane’s entertainment system.

Designed for travel, the headphones weigh less than six ounces, can be folded flat and come with a carrying pouch. A 4.9-foot cord is also included.

The product is set to be available this month at a suggested retail price of $59.95.
